Honoring the legacy of the historic Mali Empire while building a future rooted in African unity, culture, restoration, and self-determination.

The Historic Foundation

The Historic Mali Empire

The historic Mali Empire was one of the great civilizations of Africa. Founded in West Africa in the 13th century and associated with the leadership of Sundiata Keita, it became renowned for government, commerce, scholarship, culture, and institutions of learning such as Sankore in Timbuktu.

The history and accomplishments of the historic Mali Empire provide an important cultural foundation and source of inspiration for Mali Kaylibeefay.

Mali Kaylibeefay is not the historic Mali Empire.

Mali Kaylibeefay, also known as Mali Empire West, is a modern African movement inspired by the values, traditions, accomplishments, and governing heritage associated with the historic Mali Empire.

What Is Mali Kaylibeefay?

Mali Kaylibeefay — Mali Empire West

Mali Kaylibeefay — Mali Empire West — was established on June 19, 2024, as a modern institution dedicated to reconnecting African people with our history, culture, traditions, families, and one another.

Mali Kaylibeefay brings together Africans on the continent and throughout the African Diaspora around a shared vision of cultural restoration, unity, community development, leadership, education, economic empowerment, and homecoming.

Our purpose is not to recreate the past.

Our purpose is to learn from the past, preserve what our ancestors gave us, restore what was lost, and build institutions capable of serving African people today and for generations to come.

We believe that African people, wherever we may live, remain members of one extended family.

One Family. One Village. One Nation.
