Description of Sankore African Society
As the African proverb says, "Until the lion has his own historian, the tales of the hunt will always glorify the hunter."
The Sankore African Society was founded in 1999 by Mansa Sundiata Keita Kamara after a transformative journey to Gambia. During his visit to the slave dungeons, the ancestors revealed his mission, guiding him to reclaim and restore African heritage.
In this spirit, the Sankore African Society functions as the rite of passage for all citizens of Mali Kaylibeefay. In a world where our names, languages, cultures, and spiritual traditions were taken from us, the Sankore African Society provides the educational and initiatory process through which every African must pass. It is through this rite of passage that individuals are empowered and prepared to become true citizens of Mali Kaylibeefay.
All students will be initiated through the Sankore African Society.

Mali Kaylibeefay, also known as Mali Empire West, is a modern movement inspired by the historical legacy, traditions, values, and achievements of the ancient Mali Empire of West Africa. Mali Kaylibeefay is not the historic Mali Empire itself.
The historic Mali Empire provides an important cultural and historical foundation from which Mali Kaylibeefay draws inspiration. Mali Kaylibeefay looks toward that legacy while addressing the needs, identity, unity, cultural restoration, economic development, and future of African people today — both on the African continent and throughout the African Diaspora.
Mali Kaylibeefay seeks to reconnect African people with their history, culture, traditions, institutions, and one another under the principle: "One Family. One Village. One Nation."
